Whether you are a friend or family member of a student, an Ellerslie alumni, or simply a guest, we are always delighted to welcome visitors to our Ellerslie campus. Our visiting hours and policies are listed below. Please contact our office at 970-686-9022 if you have any further questions about your visit to Ellerslie. We look forward to seeing you soon!
If you plan to visit Ellerslie for any reason, please send a visitor request email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If possible, we ask that you give us at least two weeks’ notice if you plan to visit our campus for a full day or longer. (If you are an Ellerslie Alumni, please see “Alumni Volunteer Visits” below.) Our office staff will respond to your request within a few days to confirm that your proposed visiting dates will work. Note that our Ellerslie teaching schedule changes continually throughout the year, so please do not make definite travel arrangements for your visit until you have received confirmation from Ellerslie staff.
GENERAL VISITING GUIDELINES:
Visitors are welcome between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Please check in at the front desk upon arrival. For security reasons, all visitors must sign in and are required to wear the provided name badge during their entire visit. Visitors, friends and family, and Ellerslie alumni are welcome to audit Ellerslie classes for a maximum of two days. There is no cost to sit in on sessions for these two days. However, out of respect to our registered Ellerslie students we cannot allow auditing beyond this two-day time allotment. If at any time our Ellerslie staff deems a visitor’s behavior to be disruptive to our students or staff, they may ask the visitor to leave the property.
VISITING FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF STUDENTS:
We welcome visits from friends and family members of our students. Out of respect for all our staff and students, we ask that you honor the general visiting guidelines listed above. If you would like to spend time with an Ellerslie student after visiting hours, please plan to do so off campus. (Note: Ellerslie students should discuss extended absences with staff prior to opting out of sessions or planned student activities.) Due to safety and liability protocol, outside of graduation weekend events we do not allow visitors, friends, and family to join in off-campus student life activities. However, if friends and family desire to join an on-campus student event after normal visiting hours, they may discuss this with office staff and receive instructions on how to participate.
We love to see the precious faces of our Ellerslie alumni, and we gladly welcome you to stop by our campus! That said, while we would love to allow an “open ended” coming and going of our Ellerslie alumni, our ministry has grown too large to allow for this. Out of respect for our staff and current students, we ask all visiting Ellerslie alumni to follow the same visiting guidelines as “Friends and Family” listed above. We apologize that we are no longer able to offer overnight stays to our alumni and ask that you make your own lodging arrangements and respect the visiting hours as listed above. Please remember that alumni are welcome to audit classes for a maximum of two days only. Like our other visitors, we ask that all alumni who plan to visit to please submit a visitor request at least two weeks prior to your planned visit. Please do not make any definite travel plans until you have received confirmation that your proposed dates will work for our Ellerslie staff. If you are an Ellerslie Alumni and desire to volunteer on our Ellerslie campus for a period of one to three weeks, please see the “Alumni Volunteer Visits” guidelines below.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT OUR CAMPUS:
Overnight Stays: Due to unpredictable space availability on campus and limited hospitality staff, we are unable to provide on-campus lodging for our Ellerslie guests. However, we have arranged with local hotels for Ellerslie Visitor discounts, and this information will be included in your Visitor Confirmation email.
Dorms: For security reasons, general visitors are not permitted to enter the dorm buildings unless accompanied by Ellerslie staff. This is for the safety and protection of our Ellerslie students and on-campus staff. Family and friends of Ellerslie students may enter the dorms (gender appropriate only) if they are accompanied by an Ellerslie student during normal visiting hours. Thank you!
ALUMNI VOLUNTEER VISITS:
We so appreciate our many alumni who have graciously offered to volunteer their time at Ellerslie for various projects, events, and needs. If you are an Ellerslie Alumni and desire to visit the campus for an extended period of time to help, please email email@example.com, and an Alumni Volunteer Request Form will be sent to you along with a list of up-coming events and projects. This form will need to be returned to us at least one month prior to your proposed visit. Please wait to hear back from Ellerslie staff before you make any definite travel plans. Keep in mind that not every time of year is conducive to facilitating volunteer projects. We will do our best to work with the dates that work for you, and to accommodate your lodging, but keep in mind that there are no guarantees since we are juggling multiple factors on our campus at any given time.
Again, if you have any additional questions about visiting Ellerslie, please contact our office at 970-686-9022.
